What our clients say about us
Miloš Olík, Vilém Podešva, Martin Janoušek and Michal Čáp have many years of experience as arbitrators of the Board of Arbitrators of the Football Association of the Czech Republic (FAČR), which mainly decides property disputes between players, football clubs and each other. Miloš Olík is also its chairman.
Miloš Olík is a member of the presidency of the National Court of Arbitration for Sport. Its remit includes independent adjudication of doping cases so that the proceedings are not dealt with directly by the sports clubs of which the athlete is a member. Michal Čáp is the secretary of this body.
We contributed to the acquittal verdict by the Disciplinary Commission of the Slovak Athletics Federation in the case of Matej Tóth, a gold medalist in speed walking at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. The Commission decided that the athlete did not violate any anti-doping regulations. Tóth was threatened with a sanction for allegedly breaching anti-doping regulations due to ambiguities in his biological passport.
We represent a leading Czech athlete in a doping case. We have already provided legal advice in proceedings before the disciplinary commission of the national sports federation, the appeals body and now before the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport), the international arbitration court for sport in Lausanne, Switzerland.
We secured a therapeutic use exemption (TUE) for our client in the doping proceedings. This allows her to use a substance that is otherwise prohibited for medical reasons under strict conditions. The granting of this TUE effectively concluded the doping proceedings for our client, resulting in no sanctions from her association, which typically entails a ban of several years.
We provide legal advice in connection with the representation of a client in a dispute over a breach of contractual obligations under a sponsorship agreement concluded between the client and a foreign partner. We also represent the client in negotiations with the counterparty and, if necessary, in subsequent arbitration proceedings.
We provide comprehensive legal advice to the Anti-Doping Committee of the Czech Republic on employment law, compliance, public procurement and tax.
Representing the client, a promising tennis player, in revisions and negotiations of the sponsorship agreement and a tennis club.
