Jakub Hálek is the head of the Administrative Litigation specialization at ROWAN LEGAL. In his practice, he focuses mainly on administrative law projects (with an emphasis on construction law and expropriation), but also on civil litigation, competition law, insolvency law, intellectual property law (especially copyright law) and intellectual property law) and information and communication technology law.
In particular, Jakub assists with the implementation of the most important transport constructions, handles major IT and IP disputes (including those with an international element) and has been involved in the resolution of the largest insolvency proceedings in the Czech Republic.
During his studies, Jakub was also involved in professional publishing. He placed 2nd and 3rd in the SVOČ competitions in the Master’s section for “Copyright Law” at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University and 3rd place in the section for “Copyright, Labor Law, and Family Law” in the Czech-Slovak Student Scientific Competition. He also received an award from Bulletin of Advocacy and Wolters Kluwer ČR, a. s. publishing house for his professional work.
Involved in providing legal services in the field of construction law and expropriation (including representation in administrative proceedings) for a major local authority (2020-present).
Involved in providing legal services to a major client in the product price comparison market in a dispute with a multinational company on the issue of abuse of dominance and related damages (2020-present).
Involved in providing legal services to a public broadcaster in a dispute arising out of a work contract for an internet broadcast (2019-present).
Involved in providing legal services in the field of construction law and expropriation (including representation in administrative and judicial proceedings) for a major client building the largest linear transportation structures in the Czech Republic (2018-present).
Involved in representing a client as plaintiff and defendant in disputes for the payment of amounts exceeding CZK 200 million in connection with the development and implementation of a robust information system (2018-present).
Participated in the representation of the insolvency trustee in the insolvency proceedings of VÍTKOVICE POWER ENGINEERING (2017-2020).
Involved in providing comprehensive legal advice to major hosting service providers (2016-present).
Participated in providing comprehensive legal representation to the Czech Republic – Czech Social Security Administration in the insolvency proceedings of OKD, including representation in creditor bodies (creditor committee) and comprehensive legal advice in insolvency matters (2016-2018).
