Within the ROWAN LEGAL team Jakub Hálek focuses on intellectual property law (mainly copyright), information and communication technology law, unfair competition, dispute resolution, insolvency law and the right to information.

He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague and during his studies he was dedicated to practically orientated academic activity and took 2nd and 3rd place in the “Copyright” master section of the SVOČ competition at the Faculty of Law of Charles University for his thesis. He also took 3rd place in the “Copyright, Labour Law and Family Law” section within the Czechoslovakian student scientific competition. He also received awards from Bulletin advokacie and the publisher Wolters Kluwer ČR for his academic activity.

He participates in the provision of legal services to a major client in the market of price comparison of products in a dispute with an international company, namely in the issue of abuse of a dominant position and related damages (2020 – present).

He participates in the provision of legal services to clients, public television, in a dispute arising from a contract for work for Internet broadcasting (2019 – present).

He is involved in representing the client as the plaintiff and the defendant in a pair of disputes over the payment of more than CZK 200 million in connection with the development and implementation of an information system (2018 – present).

He is involved in representing the insolvency trustee in incidental disputes filed within the insolvency proceedings of VÍTKOVICE POWER ENGINEERING a.s. (2017 – present).

He provides comprehensive legal advice to major hosting providers (2016 – present).

He provided comprehensive representation during the insolvency proceedings of the bankrupt OKD, Ltd., including representation in a creditors body and comprehensive legal advice in insolvency for the client Česká správa sociálního zabezpečení (2016 – 2018).
