Miloš Olík is the head of the dispute resolution desk at the ROWAN LEGAL law firm. His practice focuses on arbitration proceedings, investment disputes, international commercial arbitration and various forms of alternative dispute resolution (mediation, negotiation).

Miloš has extensive experience in arbitration proceedings under the rules of different institutions, for instance the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the Swedish Chamber of Commerce (SCC), the Arbitration court attached to the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic, the Court of Arbitration of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the rules of the UN Commission on International Law (UNCITRAL). In this field he has led legal teams representing countries in investment disputes and multinational corporations in international commercial arbitration.

Miloš has worked as an arbitrator in over 160 arbitrations and is listed as an arbitrator with the Arbitration court attached to the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic and the world’s leading institutions (CIETAC, LCIA, VIAC, HKIAC). He is the Chairman of the Council of Arbitrators of Football Association of the Czech Republic and is a member of many professional associations and organizations. He is active in those fields dealing with alternative dispute resolution in the framework of the International Chamber of Commerce.

Miloš is registered on the list of registered mediators in accordance with act no. 202/2012 Col., on mediation.

He is the author or co-author of many publications, such as Commentaries on the Law on Arbitration Proceedings and Enforcement of Arbitral Awards (1st and 2nd edition), Commentary on the New York Convention, an addition to prestigious chapters covering the Czech Republic in the ICCA Handbook of Commercial Arbitration.

Appointed as the arbitrator in an investment arbitration UNICREDIT BANK AUSTRIA AG AND ZAGREBAČKA BANKA D.D. VS. REPUBLIC OF CROATIA(ICSID Rules) under the Austrian-Croatian BIT in the banking services and debt instruments area.

Appointed as the arbitrator in an investment arbitration ADDIKO BANK AG AND ADDIKO BANK D.D. V. REPUBLIC OF CROATIA (ICSID Rules) under the Austrian-Croatian BIT in the banking services and debt instruments area.

Represented the client, one of the top players on mobile services market not only in the Czech Republic, in the dispute with two ex-sales representatives.

Represented a state institution, Ministry of Regional Development Czech Republic, in a legal matter in which an action was filed alleging that the client had committed defamation of an insurance company (Generali Pojišťovna a.s.). The claimant sought compensation at the amount of 18 million CZK with interest.

Represented a client, The City of Prague, in a number of legal matters concerning the public transport system for Prague (the Opencard system – like the Oyster Card in London or Octopus Card in Hong Kong).

Represented Eurovia, a.s., the biggest construction company in the sector in the Czech Republic, in warranty proceedings against related to the construction of a highway (D47) worth billions of CZK.

Represented the Slovak Republic against Eureko B.V. (Achmea) in international investment arbitration under the UNCITRAL rules in a case concerning alleged violations of the rights of the investor due to changes in the legislation concerning health insurance of 65 million EUR.

Was part of the team representing the Slovak Republic against the JCC.HICEE B.V. in international investment arbitration under the UNCITRAL rules in the case of alleged violations of the rights of the investor due to changes in the legislation concerning health insurance of 1 billion EUR.

Represented the WPB Capital Savings Cooperative in several court proceedings, inter alia, in the case of administrative action against the decision of the regulator on the withdrawal of the license to operate as a Credit Union, and in the management of compensation in the amount of 60.000.000 EUR for maladministration. Several constitutional complaints were also a part of the process of defense.

Represented the client,  AŽD Praha s.r.o., in several court proceedings relating to a claim brought by the client due to a breach of obligations by a constructor under a contract for work. The claim relates to liability for the failure to correct defects and subsequent damages caused by the defects.

Represented the Slovak Republic against A.J.Oostergetel and T.Laurentiusagainst in arbitration proceedings under UNCITRAL rules in the industrial sector with a dispute value of 297 million EUR.

Represented the leading mobile services provider against another in the arbitration proceedings under ICC rules.

Represented the Russian producer in the international arbitration proceedings against the bank regarding the export financing.

Representing the client, the Czech bank, in the dispute before Arbitration court attached to the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic with one of the most active investment group in the Czech Republic and Slovakia regarding the discharge of a bank guarantee.

Representing the client, the Czech insurance organization, in the arbitration proceedings with financial group regarding the reduction of indemnification.
